Arlington, VA, March 16, 2006 – MergeGlobal, the financial and strategic consulting firm, is pleased to welcome Wendall G. Gilland, PhD, as a Principal Advisor. Dr. Gilland will advise MGI’s OperationsResearch & Development team.  An award-winning scholar and public speaker, Dr. Gilland is a professor of operations, technology and innovation management at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. His areas of study include topics such as supply-chain management, response-time management to operations decision making. His research primarily focuses on the performance improvement gained by using multiple customer priorities, products designed for multiple markets, and multiple channels of distribution.  Dr. Gilland’s expansive career consists of a wide-range of industry experiences.

Previously, Dr. Gilland was an Associate Consultant for Monitor Company where he applied business strategy methods to the strategic planning process of Fortune 500 clients. At CSC Index, he served as a Senior Associate and assisted large corporations in the development and implementation of reengineered business processes. He has also consulted for: Sentius, Apple Computer, Eastman Chemicals, Intel, Caterpillar, Hoechst-Celanese, Matsushita, Nationwide Insurance, Sony, State Street Bank and Tektronix.  Dr. Gilland has published numerous articles and papers and is currently a senior editor for Production and Operations Management Journal.  Dr. Gilland received his PhD and MBA from Stanford University and his AB from Harvard University.
