MergeGlobal Appoints Donald Paynter as a Principal Advisor

2009 - MergeGlobal, the financial and strategic consulting
firm, announced that Donald Paynter has joined the firm as a Principal Advisor. Mr. Paynter will expand
MergeGlobal's financial advisory practice, specifically with regard to the financing of intermodal
transportation equipment.
Don Paynter brings more than 30 years experience in international lending and finance, and has specialized
in financing transportation assets, cross border/tax related structuring, and treasury advisory.
Mr. Paynter currently serves as Managing Director of Commodore Funding Corporation. He has worked
internationally for much of his career, including six years in Brazil and Argentina with Citibank,
four years with Citileasing in the UK and Italy, and with Chemical Bank's Chemco Leasing in Canada,
Italy and the UK. Prior to joining Commodore, Mr. Paynter was a Group Head for Unibank A/S of Denmark,
where he was in charge of aircraft and container finance and successfully introduced the Danish
tax-based leasing product to the international market. Previously, Mr. Paynter was director of Management
Reporting with Chemical Bank, Corporate Vice President of Flexi-Van, a major New York
Stock Exchange listed container and chassis lessor, and CFO of an international general equipment lessor
with offices in the US and Hong Kong.
Present activities include advisory work for a Japanese trading company in an US acquisition, a multi-year
treasury advisory assignment with a major container lessor, various assignments for distressed asset
acquisitions, and private placement of debt and residual investments for transportation assets such as ships,
containers, aircraft, and rail cars. Additionally, Mr. Paynter was the Chairman for the Global Panel for the
Equipment Leasing Association of America from 1995 to 2004.
Mr. Payner holds an Honors MBA from the Univesity of Oregon, a BS in Accounting from the
University of San Francisco and attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University.
He speaks English, Italian and Portuguese.
